LittleBigPlanet 2 has been called not a platform game, but a platform for games. When I first watched the announcement trailer and saw them say that I was excited. In LittleBigPlanet 2 you are able to make just about any type of game you can think of. I was a little skeptical at first knowing the limitations of the first one. But after reading up on it and watching gameplay of the beta I'm convinced you really can make any type of game that you want.
If you're not into making the games no problem. The LBP moto is play, create, and share. So all that means is that there will be tons of more awesome levels for you to play. I've seen examples of not only platform games but also: fighting games, racers, shooters, puzzle games, RTS, and RPG. You don't even have to control a sackboy/girl if you don't want to. With the addition to be able to create just about anything you can think of and take direct control of it. You can even map the controls to what button does whatever you want it to.

I've seen examples of lots of 2d games that were created in the LBP2 beta. Simple ones like Pong, Tetris, and Pac-Man to more advanced ones like Star Fox, and Zelda. I was really impressed when I saw that someone was able to make a FPS shooter. And even the PSN game Flower was recreated in LBP2. All of the new power ups are looking really good too.
The grabinator allows you to pick up objects, carry them, and throw them. You're even able to do that with other sackpeople (players). The grappling hook is what you'd expect and an awesome addition to the game. Same with the grabinator you are able to grapple onto other players for added mayhem. The creatinator probably the craziest new toy lets you shoot out anything. Yep you're able to shoot out any object that you can make in the game out of this fancy little hat. It's almost like you're imaging it into existence. You want to shoot out missles, fire, exploding cows, probably even sackbots, or whatever you want.
Speaking of sackbots I'm really excited about these guys too. They are basically robots that you can design, decorate, and make them friend or foe. You're able to adjust their size and set their audio. They are able to be controlled with a direct control seat but I find it more interesting that they have their own AI that you can set up. You can make them follow you, get in vehicles, go up suction tubes, or be an actor in your cutscenes. You can also make them hostile, give them weak points, and a lifebar.
There are a ton more features and improvements that they have made to LBP2. It's one of my most anticipated games coming out. Check out some of this gameplay of the beta that I have collected for
you.
I'm really impressed with all you can do with LBP2 and this is just from the beta. The amazing thing about it is that these aren't game developers making these games in LBP2. It's gamers that are making these games just like me and you. And who hasn't dreamed of being able to make your own video game and share it with the wold? I have a few ideas on what I'd like to make when the game comes out. What games would you guys like to make?
